Mayo is good on a lot of things...but it is heaven on a cheese steak

I have an advantage, travel up to Escanaba MI., every Wednesday with work. On Ludington there is a place called Ramido's. His dad used to own Spucky's till he passed away. Same sandwich!!! Closest thing to a cheese steak I have ever found in the north country!

I get the large, with all my favorite fixins, and eat the guts with a fork! The bun is then tossed into the bin...

Chipped steak is steak sliced really thin on a meat slicer before cooking, then fried up with with onions and topped with cheese for a great treat.

Oh,and when I worked in a Hoagie shop, we sliced it while it was frozen, it was easier that way.

Goanna, do you happen to remember what the name was of the steak you get from Costco? We have a Sam's Club here, and thought I would try to find some. Thanks! By the way, it's my first post, gonna post the the newbie board soon!

Hope you don't mind me stepping in here...I'm not sure of the names of the brands but I do belong to both Sam's Club and Costco and the steak that I prefer is from Sam's club. Darnnit I wish I knew the brand name...but I do know how they LOOK... instead of being packaged in frozen flat steak "sheets" they are frozen in more of a round/oval shape and they are FABULOUS. Whereas the normal steak's have so much grease to them these have hardly any! When I pick up some more next time I will come back and post the brand name.

In Philly or south Jersey it beef sliced very very thin then you slap it on a griddle or fry pan. As it's cooking they take 2 metal spatulas chop and turn , chop and turn. Add cheese and you have agreat meal.

Now what you can do is go to the grocer , pick a nice roast and them slice it very thin. Then cook it up.

That should help.

Goodluck

That steak is called STEAK-EZE - I really like it tooo defrosts in the pan in just under a minute and breaks up really nice.

2.5lbs for 9.50 I think ? but the taste and convenience is great

2 or 3 packages with little onion, green pepper, and mushrooms... and cheese of course! Greatness

You'll find it in the Frozen Section near the frozen chicken patties and such.

Mmmmmm. I am a Philly girl, too, and this is the best part of low carbing in Philly. I can't decide what to call a cheesesteak hold the cheese and the bun. I had to give up dairy a month ago and I miss my American, but I still get my, um, steak sandwich without the sandwich. With onions...

Forgot to add that I can have butter on my no dairy plan and I don't like vegetable oils so I get them to fry my steak in butter - yum.
