Hi GTO!

This go around I got a jumpstart by being in the hospital. I wanted to encourage the post-op inflammation to go away. Even after my release from the hospital that was my motivation. Once the first month was done, it became easier. It's not easy by any means. I'm really craving sugar right now. Specifically gummy bears and chocolate. I grab something else instead. Tonight it's string cheese. I remind myself why I'm eating gluten-, grain-, and sugar-free: I feel better eating this way, I cope better with stress, I don't beat myself up nearly as much, I'm happier, and, of course, I lose weight. I try to remember to plan in advance: eating before going to my sister's or a networking event, bringing my own food, etc. I'm not always successful. I try to call the off meal/day in advance and this year I've succeeded at doing that. I do not keep high or higher carb foods in the house. Even fruit-wise, I keep only berries in the house. When I slip, I start over. Again, not easy. Doable though.

I am MOMD #93 today!

Congrats on passing the 100 mark Gypsy B!
I always forget about baking a ham. I do love a real "bone in" ham. Darn things make me SOOOO thirsty though

#127 for me! It's not easy - I've been wanting ice cream or shakes this weekend because .... it's FREAKING hot here! lol I stuck with ice water and a "cold" shower. I type "cold" because the water coming out of the shower head just by turning on cold is lukewarm.

What's the stumbling block for you? Why not come back and be MOYD? It's not easy - trust me I know. I struggle. I want a candy bar like you wouldn't believe. About the only things I don't want are: bread and pasta. It's requiring a constant state of vigilance on my part. I want this to work "this time" and that means sticking with it.

Hi Kelly! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend - and see you when you get back.

I'm back and MOMD #1. Weight was up 3 pounds from my long weekend get-away so I was vigilant today with what I ate.
