No sitting done yesterday. If time allows today I will sit before afternoon coffee. That time seems to work for me.

Aiming for a clean eating day. Another very bad night (little sleep) and I can't afford those anymore.

My happy thing started early - in the middle of the night my cat climbs up on my torso and when he stretches out his paws touch my face and neck...so soft and furry, it makes me smile even when I'm having a bad night. I am still smiling about that.

Commitment is : at least 30 minutes walking as base exercise every single day for 90 days, began July 15
Aug 3 30 minute walking video and onward
Aug 4 45 minute walking video and on
Aug 5 Saturday 45 minute walking video and nice walk outdoors
August 6 Sunday 45 minute walking video and 3 hour bird watching walk with friends -- heavenly!!

August 9 Wednesday 30 minute video not really into it, but did it, then 15 minutes upper arm -- ooooooo, it hurts so good!!
August 10 Thursday 45 minutes in good sweaty form, and 15 minutes upper arm, very sore in a good way! Think I'm getting somewhere. This is making a difference!
August 11 Friday 30 minutes walking and 10 minutes upper arm
August 12 Saturday lackidaisical 30 minutes of walking, and a good stretch. We'll be outside today and get more movement in.

Indeed, we took the dog and a neighbors dog (neighbor out of town) for a walk, and then went for the afternoon to a nearby nature reserve, where we also did some walking.
August 13 Sunday 30 minutes walking video
August 14 Monday 45 minute walking video. Sweated. Supposed to be three miles but my fit bit only shows 2.6 -- probably because I did upper arm exercises at the same time which are a bit slower. Still got the heart rate up several times.
August 15 Tuesday 30 minute walking video with good engagement -- this is the one month mark!! WOW!
August 16 Wedneday 30 minute walking video with not such great enthusiasm
August 17 Thursday 45 minute walking video with enthusiasm!!
August 18 Friday 25 minute walking video -- tried a different one today -- different from the 6 or 7 I usually select from on you tube, and it didn't really do it for me, no sweating, so I added a 5 minute arm toning thing, now I feel the buzzing in my neck where I had whip lash two years ago. Not doing that again. The buzzing will go away in a few days with carefull movement and stretching. Back to my plain oldies but goodies.

Habit:

Spend time on the cushion practicing 6 R's each day - I will post each day if I was able to get time on the cushion or not - how long on the cushion will not be tracked, just if it happened or not.

6 R explanation go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egFZO2e799w

1) Recognize when you mind has a distraction in it
2) Release the distraction (don't keep attention on the distraction)
3) Relax the tightness in your mind
4) Re-smile (bring up something wholesome - a smile with the mind)
5) Return to the object of meditation (loving kindness to yourself and your spiritual friend)
6) Repeat staying with object of meditation as long as you can

Observation:

Sitting was done during wash cycle at laundromat, a favorite place to visit.

OP - no. Again not going crazy, healthy food but not on my plan. Some vino.
I did stay away from breakroom sugar last night. My theory is once I start the new job and crazy hours and get a feel for what that will be like, I'll calm down and I can stick to this better. Not judging myself or freaking out - I am just letting things go along with minimal stress.

Today I finished watching The Zookeeper's Wife - my happy thing included returning to the part where she is holding and nuzzling a baby big cat - not sure if it's a lion or something else...this is also the cover picture and the entire reason I checked out this movie I wanted to watch that again, made me smile big. "HERE kitty, kitty!!!"

Be safe, Thud.
I am afraid I will not be able to keep this up. Perhaps another time I can try.
Mama, I am sorry to abandon you! I will read when I can. My life is about to explode - I am tired just thinking about it.
I am petsitting while J is in town for the weekend and can't believe I am making myself do this right now. Nice people, nice dogs - but an apt 3 floors up in the heat...almost no parking...so a nice long walk in the heat too... well it'll be over tomorrow after work. Then the 2nd job begins and I will have no time.

Happy though, was a lovely lovely dream last night. Maybe the cosmos is trying to make me feel better.
-Kat

Sorry to lose you here Kat! remember that you can use this as you wish -- no need to bow out if there is any plus coming to you -- but entirely your call, and if stopping posting actually relieves stress then really do it!!!! And perhaps we'll see you back at some point -- remember, you make the rules.
With love.

Thanks Mama S! I may just visit the thread when I can - just not posting daily. Not something I can do right now.
I will read where I can.
