Hi Everyone,

My name is Kara. I am a 33 yo mom to a 3 1/2 yo dd and wife to Rich.
I was diagnosed with PCOS a month ago, after complaining to my doctor
that I thought I was in early menopause! He did some blood tests and said I had PCOS....

I'm quite over weight... currently 192 and will start Atkins tomorrow.
I went on it after the birth my dd and lost 40 pounds, so I'm hopeful
to have the same success. This go around I am on clomid though and
have been reading that it is a bit harder to loose while on this med...
I hope not, we're trying for our second baby after two m/c's.

I was still able to lose at about 3 to 4 pounds a week on clomid. I think a problem with it is some ladies dont do low carb while on clomid because of concern of pregnancy and dieting but my doctor told me its fine as long as I stop dieting after a positive hpt.

It didnt work for me, getting pg, before but I wasnt on glucophage yet or medicine for my thyroid. I am getting my insulin under control still and I am going to get boosted up to 2000mgs. Hopefullly that will be enough.

I did ovulate though. I am going to go on another 3 month trial in a couple of months to see if the gluc and levoxyl make a difference. Dont give up hope an eggie takes 100 days from start to finish so sometimes it takes till the third month or the month after to make a good strong eggie depending on when in the cycle it doesnt properly work.

Hi there,
Just to let you know the first time I tried clomid I had no problem getting pregnant, the second time was not so lucky. I'm not sure why but I wasn't able to keep up with it because it caused such horrible depression I decided it wasn't worth it any more.
Good luck to you. My first doctor had me take ovulation tests to determine if it was working, might be something you could do.
