Best news I've heard all year!! Professor Noakes must be so relieved -- we all knew he was right but the world has gone so crazy. So glad that people saw sense in the end.

Good news. I'm glad that the verdict came in the way that it did. In this world you can never tell what will happen. I'm sure this was a stressful time for Professor Noakes, but I think this trial was a good thing. It may not be making headlines around the world, but it did raise awareness. I wonder if those accusers that initiated this legal action realized that they were actually putting themselves on trial? That is what ended up happening. And they lost.

Below this story just happens to be the photo of Sami Inkenin with his hands raised in victory...that's how Prof Noakes should feel now.

I've seen some ridiculous wastes of money, but this trial takes the biscuit (made of lo-carb fathead dough, of course....)

And even more maddening, this is not a trial. I don't think there is any remedy to recover Tim Noakes legal fees..to say nothing of his stress over the past three years.
Haven't been watching this aspect, and have no idea of South African laws, but who has been paying for this "hearing" and Noakes teams of legal and nutritional experts?

The whole thing is an utterly shameful shambles from start to finish. Those accusers should now be held accountable for defamation and slander, and/or libel.

The modern day version of "The Crucible" is over. Thank goodness. As with any absurd controversy, there are pros and cons resulting from this. Assessing the costs still continues.

Good interview on Channel 24, where he discusses that his two attorneys donated their services but this was still a huge financial and personal toll on him and his wife. https://youtu.be/oZwpzA5WICg

Marika Sboros's summary: http://foodmed.net/2017/04/22/noake...no-laws-broken/
Her website has the most information on the history of this hearing.

Gary Fettke is also running the gauntlet. The authorities are crazy. They have a complaints address - so, I wrote to the AHPRAF!

Quote:
Are you guys insane?
You are censoring and gagging Dr Gary Fettke on.... what grounds, exactly?
There is so much information and totally reliable and researched data to completely back his recommendations - and you send him a 14-page email effectively censoring and gagging him from giving established and reliable advice on nutrition?

The guy is a doctor, for goodness' sake who's survived Cancer - and you think he's not qualified to give advice of this kind?

Whoever there decided that this was a sound course of action, is a dumbklutz, and that person should be censored and even disciplined for this ridiculous decision.
How much research did they put into Dr Fettke's recommendations, exactly??

This is a crazy, stupid, blinkered and totally groundless directive.

You ought to be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.

We have a long standing thread about GaryFettke here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=474612
His is a done deal, but he spoke at some recent LC conferences because they never really defined the limits on what he could not do. Can't remember where I heard his recent update...maybe after LC Breckenridge?
