Default Protein Shake AFTER cardio question

Does anyone take a protein shake AFTER cardio?

Ugh. Another controversal topic.

I do things like Taebo and Kickboxing for 40minutes at a time.
Other days, I do things like the eliptical.

I think at least after something like kickboxing I should drink a protein shake. Maybe not for something simple as an eliptical..but for kickboxing where you actually do use every muscle..even if you're not exactly lifting..
If I was on a regular 'clean' diet, I would have to..

Opinions?

I don't like to take a whey shake after ANY exercise, because it glycolyzes too quickly in my body and I get an insulin response. In males, this is often GOOD - particularly after lifting.

That being said, I'm female, and I'm not the only female who has fat spillover from increasing my post-workout blood sugar, even if it DOES come from protein.

Cardio doesn't stimulate the same anabolic response as intense anaerobic activity like heavy weightlifting, so you might find yourself slowing your fat loss by doing this - but you'll just have to try it to see.
