Day 17
1 miss

I succumbed to the demon computer calling my name.

1. No computer use between the hours of 9AM and 5PM except for my Buddhist teachings and tracking food on Cronometer.

2. No computer use in the morning until after I meditate.

3. No computer use after 10PM

4. At least 1 hour of study per day (added on day 5)

27 days in...
on plan , faithful to 90 day goal, in spite of a couple of sleepless nights which historically would have eating like there is no tomorrow. I think I am down a wee bit on the scales.

A 36 hour fast would be amazing if I could do it! I do 16/8 everyday now so my body is used to that. I have done one 24 hour dinner to dinner. I just passively noticed the waves of hunger and told myself I need not take action, I am increasing my well being. K Mom if you want to be a 36 hour fast buddy with me, we could make a date. How about last meal to night and then eat breakfast on Friday morning. We could check in with on another.

Hey, just a heads up. There is no public support for fasting over 23.9 hrs on the BBS by the admins. I'm being vauge about what I do here. Never planning on going over that number but it just sort of happened.

I, nor the admins, encourage fasting or even disscussion of it over 23.9 hrs. Please be mindful of this. However, the admins say that you can talk about your fasting over 23.9 hrs in your semi-private journals.

Talk to your doctor before engaging in fasting over 23.9 hrs.

To be clear on my practice this period, I plan on fasting on non consecutive days (ADF) and also have the privilage of consuming only fat on those days up to about 600-800k - So more similar maybe to a 5:2 protocol.

FWIW...

Days 17 of 90

Goal of this challenge: Simply to tally how well I do sticking to my diet plan over the next 90 days.

Good days: 12
So-so eating: 3
Off the mark: 2
~~~~~~~~~~
Late snacks: 5
Tuesday was almost an exact rinse and repeat of the day before -- macros good across the board and no snacking. I'm back to eating a lunch at work for the first time in nearly 2 years. I've also been satisfied with eating considerably less food in the evenings. Maybe this is no coincidence. I'm considering the possibility of skipping breakfast to build in an 18 hour fast most days. I tried OMAD last summer and it didn't work out well. I had bad eating days all over the place. Eating breakfast and dinner worked better for me. However, I've never tested the waters with having only lunch and dinner as a daily routine. Maybe that will work even better.
This year's 10K is done. I trained well. My legs are quite fit. After the previous 2 10Ks my "training" came to an end. My exercise routine reverted back to daily walking until the following winter when I felt the need to start training for the next spring 10K. Cardio is not my favorite thing, at least not the way I was doing it. The plan for this year is to keep up the cardio at least once or twice a week. But rather that train hard, shooting for the 'red zone' with the workouts, I'll dial it down and work out in the lower end of the cardio heart rate spectrum. I read a good article about this technique...
Want Speed? Slow Down!
It's worth a try. Who knows? Maybe I'll come to enjoy cardio if I am not pushing the limits. In any case, if I keep up some cardio, then I won't lose any ground before next year's 10K.
Nancy (Peterborou)...
I'm in! OK...so I eat dinner tonight (Wednesday) and then do not eat again till Friday breakfast. So that means just not eating at all tomorrow. I have done this in the past and loved it. I feel pretty confident. I will expect the stomach growling and will tell myself at that moment just to get past it! I am always amazed that after a while I don't feel hungry...until the next round of rumbling!
Anyone else want to join us!
Great idea for an accountability partner.
And it is on (36-hour fast! I am already three hours into it! I will report in a couple of times tomorrow. It will help me to be accountable to you. Hope it goes well for you.
Thumbs up
30 days no snacking . My snacking is cumpulsive eating. In difficult or uncomfortable times its what my mind takes me to. The gates (lips) are shut.
KMom yes! 13 hours in. It will be easy while at work, its when I get off work and supper time that will be a challange. I will be checking in too!
Have a great day!
Tallied up another good day. Weekdays are easier for me. I must get better at sticking to my plan on weekends. Progress made during the week can so easily be undone by a weekend of bad eating. I'm happy to have remained weight stable for several months in a row, but better yet would be to see some weight loss results. If I can resolve my tendency to splurge on the weekends, I will see some results.
