So my loss this month was only just over 4 pounds.... significantly less than previous months. I am expecting weight loss to slow down somewhat as I get closer to goal, but this was rather extreme and sudden. I was thinking I will try this month without chia seeds/shredded unsweetened coconut..... which I do enjoy, but am willing to go without.... If there was a little pouty stampy-feet emoticon I would now click several of them onto this post! but hilarious laughter will have to do. Happy now Cricket?

Paulette, I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk.... mostly with my chia seeds! So dang-it, not sure if I will continue to use it, since it could be part of my slow-down...(of course the added amount of SF syrup I use in the chia concoction might be part of it too....) but I just bought 3 quarts of the almond milk as it was on sale.... may see if my mom can use it. But she usually uses the sweetened kind-- she doesnt tolerate milk as she has gotten older. I also have tried the unsweetened cashew milk-- it was also good.

All the above said, my measurements have continued to decrease, so maybe my increased activity/walking has put some muscle weight on and the smaller loss this month was not so much to do with anything dietary?

Still thinking on all of this... but no chia or coconut or almond milk today....

Paulette: I use the Silk unsweetened coconut or almond. I am allergic to cashew nuts so afraid to try the milk. too bad because I bet it is delicious.

Himadri: When I started using the Nut milks it decreased my use of HWC. So this has been good for me financially and calorie wise. I do mix in 2 cups HWC in each half gallon less 2 cups of the silk milks. This gives back a little richness. I have calculated the carbs and calories fats in the combination then log what I use each day.

I would guess the SF syrups might be a little bit of slow down. I know they slow my loss down. I do not use it very often now. I use the Torino. I assume there are other brands. I have not used the chia seeds. Might have to look into them.

Cricket: Thank you for starting the new post.

DaVinci was the brand I used before BUT the concentrated sucralose has zero everything. Not even sodium.
They should not cause any slow down at all since they have nothing in them to cause any effects. ONLY the SA will slow down, stall or gain in time.
CHIA SEEDS>>UGH>> LOOK HIMI>>>> have the things you are enjoying. This is for life.It is not a prison snetence to endure but one to live with. 4 pounds if fine. You cannopt expect to do 10 pounds a month etc. You have hormones to contend with and this matters. If I have to give up everything that MIGHT be casueing me not to lose as fast as I did before, then so be it. THe pounds will come off.
As for the milk... I tried the SILK stuff an did like it BRIEFLY then I could not stand the tastes. I cut back on the HC when I began the SF WF syrups.AGAIN, nothing in there cause a slow down.
It took us years to get fat so it will take some time to get thin.
IF you are building muscles, you are retaining water and the muscles DO use more calories to maintain than fat so winning there is more important than the retention

I a all stopped up again.TY nyquil and meds cannnot take anything tonight since I have to be a t the dermatologist and the rehab tomorrow. Gotta feed 2 of the beasties for Jodi in the A M before I leave..she has MRI right after work... I will be there around the same time LOL!
THat's it for this Alabama gal!
Have a great eveing

Cricket I hope you're getting some rest before your appts. I tried to crop the pic but i'm hopeless lol! I'm kinda over the red hair myself. It was fun but i'm ready to go back to my brown. Actually luckily the little drink never caught up. This is definitely all TOM's doing! Good luck with the mole patrol today!

Himi i'm with you on the yucky 5:30 darkness. It means I go to work when it's dark already which makes my internal clock think we should be relaxing for the evening not just starting our work day. We really need to suggest a pouty feet stomping emogee lol

Paulette so glad you were able to nurse your computer back to healthy.I was wondering about the cashew milk since cashews are my favorite nuts. Thanks for being the guinea pig and trying it. I'll get some this week. I only milk for cooking really...I was never a milk drinker unless it included chocolate pre-Atkins so i'll see what I can come up with...thanks for sharing.

Whoosie wishes to all!! Happy Monday!!

I am up 2 lbs this morning. Not happy about it. It is a very big gain. But what the heck - There is not much more I can do about this.

Yesterday was a low calorie day for me. I had shrimp (steamed, with homemade shrimp sauce made from WF Sugar-Free Ketchup and horseradish), Tuna & mayo, and some chicken with cheese along with my cup of new Cashew milk and my daily cream. Not even 1200 cals. It seemed like it should have been higher, but shrimps are so low in cals. You can eat a LOT of them and it is still incredibly low! I had 32 shrimps!!! That was only 204 calories! Today I am having eggs & sausage for lunch and maybe again for dinner. We didn't take out anthing to thaw, so dinner may change. But so far it is in the 1200 range again. So there should be some fat loss going on inside me somewhere???????? My fingers and toes seem pretty thin. My ring size has gone down to a 6, used to be a 7.5. None of my rings fit, they all fall off! But like CRICKET always said, fat hides in the most hidden places. Internally and in other strange areas! Maybe fat is melting from the top of my head? Who knows?

HIMI - Slowing down in losses is of course natural the closer you get to goal. You can start getting nervous about it, or accept it. You can start cutting everything out, but like CRICKET said, this is supposed to be a lifelong and livable diet. Do you really think you can sustain a diet devoid of all things that made it tolerable? No! That will only lead to feelings of deprivation and make the diet a drudgery. Eventually, you will go back to adding those things back. Personally, I have been dieting for almost 2 years now. I remember when the losses started slowing to 3-4 lbs a month. I started cutting everything out, like you are thinking of (but I was still strict induction at that time, and the only things I COULD cut out were sweeteners and cream!) Well it did not make a tad of difference. It only made me angry and deprived. I had to learn to accept my slower rate of loss and plod on. I have had a month or 2 of higher losses since then, but mostly, they have slowed to only a couple lbs. And as you know, lately, nothing. I refuse to start cutting back further now. I figure that I will continue to lose at a snail's pace and that is ok with me. I want to make this diet stressless and livable. If you truly feel one of your foods is affecting your losses, cut it out, if it is extraneous, and see if it makes a bit of difference to you. Maybe it will. But I think you are having excellent losses, still! And congrats on having a decent loss this past month!!!!

I looked at my chart - On Oct. 1st I was 217 lbs. Today I am 214.8. So I did have a 2.2 loss. It was MORE yesterday, but went up so much today. BUT, it is less than it was 1 month ago and I am VERY happy for that!!!!! This weight of mine can go up and down through the month, but as long as it is a LITTLE less by the end, then WOO HOO!

I did not take a photo last month for my before and afters. I really MUST do it this month! Even if there seems to be no difference, I want a pictoral reference to look back on. It is necessary for my mental well-being, if nothing else. And I really need to get a new avatar up there. The one I have is too old! Maybe I can remember to do that today....

It's good to know some of you have tried the Silk products. A long time ago I was using the coconut milk, but cut it out because I thought it was stalling me. It seemed that I lost a bit after I cut it out, but maybe that was coincidence..... The fact is that I was using it as a replacement for my cream. When I cut it out and started adding my cream back, I started losing again. So go figure. Cutting out fat is not productive on this eating plan. I have found that cream is a GOOD thing, and my body has no aversion to dairy of any sort, so why on earth would I want to cut it out? It is one of those few foods that give me great pleasure on this diet.

I am rambling and not getting to the point! Sorry! I wanted to say that I really enjoy drinking my Silk. The calories are low and the single carb is practically negligible. The benefits of all the nutrients is awesome! And I add some WF chocolate syrup to it, too. It is like drinking a glass of chocolate milk, something I always loved. What a great way to get your daily calcium! I'm glad I am not alone by drinking this. I am always afraid CRICKET may get out the old high carb noodle and come running after me when I add something new.

CRICKET - Thank you for approving the Silk. Sorry you do not like it. I never really liked the taste of the Almond, but drank it for the calcium benefit. This new Cashew is SO much better! I actually like it. ----------- Doesn't NYQUIL have sugar in it? I would be afraid to take it! Or do you take the caplets? Just wondering!!! I hope you feel better this morning. I woke up with an aching body. I swear, every bone feels sore today, especially my right arm. I am an old lady.

CHRISSIE - Sorry you are sick, too!!!!! I changed the chart to the correct line for me, it was still showing yesterday's weight. So all is fine. Congrats on being stable today!

I must get started on the day now, enough rambling for me. You all have a great day and I will stop back later.

TOM.. fitting that something that affects us in such a negative way has a masuline name!!! I have a sign on my fridge " if it weren't for men, there would be a lot of fat happy women"!
Don't get me wrong.. I LOVE my MAN!
Have to call rehab/PT again.. my referral was over 30 days! so I needed to call Ga. and get a new one and now waitinng for it to get into the system. Looks like I get to wear my Mickey Mouse Ponch today in this rain..YIKES!!! Maybe it will slow down so I can just put on a normal rain slicker and towels.

I need to get colors on the names again..I ran out of steam last night.

anyone wishing to go OCD and fix the lines , GO FOR IT

Well, spent another 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back with more over charges..
Got notice from Ins that eye TX on 10/14 generated a $50 co pay..uh NOPE read the chart on that date I went for post op check up on the left eye and surgery for the right..NO CO-PAY I had explaine all that on Friday to their ins person..I called them today to see what happened... I was told that they RESUBMITTED it.. UH NOOOO... there should have been nothing to submit with that date at all for the left eye since that was included as Follow up... and the right eye was paid for and NO CO PAY for the actural surgery since there was no "office visit: for that.. GEE.. wish I could see her AHA moment! He light went on and finall we were all on the same page. She spoke to the surgeon's nurse and got it checked out.. and I was 100% So, the charges are removed and a ZERO balance statement will be sent ot me . These co -pays killed me. Bad enough I will go through anpither $100 for rehab..appointments 11th and 16th. I want to see how I do with following their regime. I have a deep sown gut feeling I will not improve more than I am doing but DO want this documented anyway. You know, It is as if I never left work.. only now I do it for free, Somehow, getting aggrevated for my salary was just fine.. but to save myself $ is great but this should never be happening. What is it with so many errors in the medical field! It is sad to know that so many people are being financially abused by incorrect coding and billing. Most do not know how to advocate for themselves. No wonder our insurances coverages are so high. They are overpaying by the billions.

Hi Chris, I corrected your line. It should show just the gain, loss, or 0.0 with an asterisk in the last column. I had to be corrected a couple of times when I started. Hope that is all right with you.

No gain, no change for me...an NSV
