Default Encourgagement for Anyone In Induction and Struggling

If you are reading this, maybe you are struggling with the "side effects" of weaning off carbs/sugar. Don't give up.

I was fine until Day 3 when I felt so bad I had to leave work (terrible headache, brain fog and total utter fatigue). Then Day 4 only slightly better but I toughed it out through the workday, then came home and couch potato. Day 5 (yesterday) started good then quickly went downhill back to brain fog and fatigue.

I had not been able to exercise due to fatigue and was giving myself a break since induction symptoms were much worse than I imagined they would be (I thought it would be cravings that got me, ironically that has been no problem!). Last night, I was still fatigued but I decided to get on the treadmill and try to just walk 2 miles. I told myself slow as I want; just to try and see if it might help my symptoms. Well, what a surprise. Let me say I am totally out of shape because I was always so tired after work it was hard to exercise...like too physically draining to do it even if I could get myself to start. To my total surprise, walking was easy. Like really easy, so I started walking on an incline. That was easy too, so I kept making it steeper. Still easy. So I started jogging. Seriously? I HATE JOGGING, plus I have bad knee so I am supposed to limit high impact, but I couldn't help it. I ended up going 3.4 miles and I only stopped because my show was over, and I didn't want to overdo it. I did not get out of breath and my muscles never got tired. It was like I had been doing this forever. I was thinking - is this is what working out is supposed to feel like??? Not looking at the clock every minute wondering if I could go another step like I did before. After that, I felt like a superhero. Seriously better than I have felt in a long long time. There is no explanation for this except for reducing carbs and eliminating sugar.

This morning, I woke up feeling pretty good. No muscle soreness (which I should have considering how lazy I have been) and no knee pain (also weird considering I did high impact). I still feel a little ditzy but all other symptoms have subsided and I don't feel hungry all the time which is awesome! I am waiting to weigh myself, but I know this is working for overall health so the scale has really become less important.

So to all who might be wondering if this will ever end and if you will ever feel good again...stay the course!

Good for you! I'm so jealous. I wish I could jog. Ugh, my knees are so bad. Left in particular. Avoiding dairy and gluten helps, as does the turmeric pills I'm taking but jog? I still have issues with stairs and WALKING distances let alone an impact like that!

You are down 70lbs. You should be proud of all you have accomplished so far! A lot of people can't do that.

I'm sure if you start slow, you can do it! Start by parking farther away and stuff and build up if you can. I find once I start, it is easier than thinking about how I should start.

Sadly a lot of carb flu can be avoided if people increase their sodium intake. See the Salt Thread for info.

Yep, down 70 - need to lose at least another 100 more, I'd like

I'm currently stalled again. I'd love to just get into the 200's consistently. Ugh.
