Default So Confused

OK I have been this WOE since April 1. I lost right at 18 pounds my first month without any major real struggles (other than headaches the first several days from giving up Dr. Pepper).
This week, however, has been a REAL struggle. I've managed to stay low-carb but all of the sudden I'm gaining weight and I just don't understand why or what is going on. Between Tuesday to Wednesday, the scale showed a 6 pound weight gain, yes 6 pounds. And from Wednesday to this morning it showed another 2 pound gain so that's 8 pounds over two days. What in the world is going on? I'm not snacking and my carbs are limited to 20 a day. Help please.

What Nancy said, or possibly if you were doing physical activity you're not used to, it's water retention......

Either way, it's not FAT. It'll go away. Have a big glass of water or two or three to help it along.

Another thought -do you need a new scale battery?

Hi kdhayes. Congrats on first 18 pounds lost! It's virtually impossible to provide input without seeing exactly what you're eating and how much you're eating. Sometimes we don't eat enough. Or eat enough fat, etc. Have you thought of starting a journal in the Journal/Boot-Camp forum? Just start a thread, give it a title, and visit it as often as you like. I sound like a broken record because I suggest a journal to everyone.
Just keep reading lots of other people's journals and threads on this site to see what the composition is of fat/protein and carb intake each day, or what types of foods might stall etc. Do you follow Dr. Atkins books? Anyway, good luck - you can do this.
