Plan: Atkins
Stats: 145/120.5/110 Female 63

Progress: 70%
Location: New York City
Default Vent: Busted Knee

Two days ago, on my 3 mile training run (I run a 10k in a week), I hurt the outer part of my left knee - could be an IT band thing. Yesterday I did some arc trainer, which was ok, and this morning I felt great...so i went out for a nice 4 miler...3 miles in and i was in excrutiating pain. Just spent the morning icing- looks like I'm going into the 10k without any training.

I really wanted to be training for a half marathon right now.

I'm not a runner, but have just been in Physical Therapy with some runners with knee injuries. I have never seen people in so much pain. (Aside from friends having babies)

I think you should not run that 10K. At least get some professional advice before you do.

I definitely want to find out if it is ITBS or something work- if its just the IT band, I'm gonna foam roll for a week and see if that helps.

I would ice, wrap, rest and take a couple days off....but i'd still run the 10k as a nice training run.

Don't you love ice? From one injury-person to another

This is the current plan. IT's gonna be a "rough" training run where I'm going to be wishing it was over the entire time, but its better than wasting my race fees
