Take the BMI and chuckit straight out the window! Then forget you ever read it! Oh and if your doctor brings it up, kick him square in the beans and find a new doctor. (relax, that was meant tongue in cheek, don't throw paper out the window... )

In my way of thinking, the BMI ranks right up there with such medical practices as blood letting, leaches and statins......

I have lost about 100 pounds since starting LCing in 2003. Yet according to the BMI...well you look it up. I am 5'11" tall and weigh approx 270 right now. I have a 43 inch waist, 18 inch neck, 56- 58 inch chest and my calves and thighs are well developed and muscular. Do I have extra baggage, yes. Obese? No!

On second thought, here is what the BMI says from these "experts"....
http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/hea..._calculator.htm

Height: 5 feet, 11 inches
Weight: 270 pounds

Your BMI is 37.7, indicating your weight is in the obese category for adults of your height.

BMI ........................Weight Status
Below 18.5 ................Underweight
18.5—24.9.................Normal
25.0—29.9.................Overweight
30.0 and Above...........Obese
