Default is this coleslaw recipie correct?

Hi all,
I found this coleslaw recipie on the site, and was wondering if it actually works-- there's no mayo in it at all! Does anyone know if that was accidentally left out or if this recipie is any good?

I eat this one all the time, you can leave out the onions if you must, but better with.
6 C shredded cabbage,
1 med onion thin sliced,
10 tsp Splenda,
1/4 C white vinegar,
2 tsp vegetable oil,
1 tsp Dijon mustard,
1/2 tsp each of salt, celery seed, horseradish,
pinch pepper,
Mix all ingredients except veggies. Whisk and bring to a boil. Pour hot liquid over veggies and stir. Cover and chill several hours. Next day even better. Stir every now and then.

Some coleslaw recipes use an oil and vinegar dressing instead of a mayonnaise based one. It sounds pretty sweet so if you don't like really sweet coleslaw, start with less Splenda and add more to taste.

My mother makes this slaw all the time. I don't like it. Too vinegary for my taste...........anywho..........She would bring all the fixings for this to my house and ask me to shred the veggies in my cuisinart. Then she would leave me with a bowl of it, I guess as my commision for the use of my machine. So what did I do? Did I tell her "no thanks".........Nope. I took the passive/agressive way out and bought her a Cuisinart of her very own. It has nothing to do with the slaw.....but I had to share.

Here's a cole slaw recipe I make all the time ~ my husband just loves it: *Ü*

KFC Cole Slaw

8 cups Finely shredded cabbage
2 Tbsp minced dried onion (can substitute fresh)
1/2 cup sugar (use equivalent)
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1.5 Tbsp horseradish
1 tsp celery seed
3/4 cup cream
3/4 cup Mayonnaise
4 T red wine vinegar (or vinegar of choice)
4 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Can also add minced orange pepper to simulate carrots

Instructions:
Be sure cabbage is chopped very finely.
Combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, vinegar and lemon juice in a large bowl and beat until smooth. (I just do it in the processor)
Add the cabbage and onion and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

CAD has a coleslaw that uses sour cream instead of mayo.

I don't go for vinigary things os I probably wouldn't try that one. 5Make it and tell us how it turns out

my favorite (summertime staple) coleslaw is:

1/2 c mayo
2 T sour cream
2 packs splenda
1 T apple cider vinegar
1 T parsley flakes
1 T minced onion

I just mix all ing. together in a big ziplock bag, add a bag of shredded cabbage, and shake it up. --
Good stuff.

The colslaw that I make--we call a cabbage salad:

Two heads of cabbage chopped/ or equivelent
Two bunches of green onions chopped
Four medium carrots grated
One bunch of radishes chopped
One clove garlic chopped
one/half bunch of fresh cilantro chopped
Four roma tomatos seeded and diced

Dressing--mix well in separate bowl
Approx. one cup of mayo (I use Best Foods)
The juice of one fresh lime
One pack of Stevia

When the dressing is approx. halfway mixed in, I salt the salad quite well. This seems to help the flavors blend. I use the rest of the cilantro for garnish when through mixing. This makes a very presentable dish with its many colors. I cover and allow the flavors to blend in the fridge for a few hours if possible. I've had many people enjoy this colorful, healthful cabbage salad. Please try it.
