Default Itchy after cheat meal?

Has anyone experienced extreme itchiness after indulging in a higher carb meal? Last night, we went to Outback and I had two pieces of bread, two glasses of wine, and two french fries. A few hours later I was itchy. There was no rash, but the itching was so bad I had trouble falling asleep. I will occasionally have wine on other days and have never experienced itching, so I don't think it's from that.

I'm still a little itchy today but nothing like I was last night.

Anybody have any thoughts or experience with itching after a cheat meal?

It's a classic allergic symptom. Like getting hives if you have a problems with strawberries.

It's a histamine issue.

I'd say that the bread is the most likely culprit.

Sulphites (preservatives) in the wine could also cause itching. Some brands have a lot more than others, and the cheaper ones often have higher amounts.

Good point! In my case, it causes a headache.

Cheat meals have their ways of biting us in the behind, for certain.

I can relate to the itchiness and the hot feeling. And as Werebear says it bites in the behind as that's where it seems to hit me. It's a lot like hives. I usually get an itchy bump of some some sort there. Sometimes I get itchy on my lower legs too. I get this when eat LCHF when I have too much of something non carb and I also get this when I am off the WOE. Just my two cents for what it's worth. I probably should get tested for allergies.
