Default New low carber, high cholesterol

Hello,
I am a 37 year old woman. I started doing Atkins 1 month ago and have been very satisified with my progress. I have lost over ten lbs. However, yesterday I had a blood test and found that my total cholesterol was 2.72 with a high LDL of 206. My HDL is 52. I am very concerned, and disappointed because this diet really works for me and I don't want to stop!
Incidentally, my liver enzymes are way up too...
Anyone have any advice?
Please!
Thank you,
Alix

sometimes when people start to low carb the numbers initially go up, but eventually come back down. Can you post a typical menu for us to see? How often have you "cheated" ?

Alix,

I would wait 6 months after starting low-carbing before having blood chemistry checked. Your body needs some time to adjust and generate the correct hormones.

Some liver enzymes go up naturally as you eat more protein.

are you on any medications? They could also be affecting the liver.

HDL is great! What are your triglycerides?

Post an example of your menu, people on here can tell you if you're doing something wrong.

WHO CARES ABOUT LDL. Its not an indocator for heart disease. Well it is but the numbers arent. Go to your doctor and say I want to get my ldl fractioned. I revered heart disease on the atkins with high choolsetrol but most of it was whit and fluffly stuff wich does not clog artries. i think u havent read the atkins book becuase he states it their. I also think u must read this too http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm Also are u ahving bacon and sasugages this is very important so please let me know.
