ooo I just made some oopsies for hot dog buns...they never really hold up well for them but I keep trying! You just gave me a great idea for a real BLT - I'll try that with oopsies.

Bump! I'm making regular bacon this morning. But it's so yummy, is regular even appropriate? Haha!

I have to add that the oopsies made longer for hot dogs held up just fine! They were perfectly adequate for holding a hot dog. A dog wrapped in bacon and grilled would be really good....ANYthing wrapped in bacon would be really good...

All of my bacon is just regular..the cheapest the better.
I've been getting some for $1.99 per lb and I buy 10 at a time and freeze it.

Miche, Ohhh that hot bacon dressing sounds unbelievably good...on a spinach salad..

Kat, You OOpsie rolls are sounding really Yummy...

Then I either wrap them with half slices of bacon or I just lay a piece across the top of the 'boat' and bake at 400 for about 30 minutes or until the bacon is cooked. Its a milder/sweeter version of the jalapeno pepper poppers and soooo crazy good!

I've been looking for this recipe.....YAY here it is

OK nobody laugh - but I found this old you tube someone sent me and it is a Woodford Bourbon Manhattan made in a special way (sounds like a lot of trouble but... it also sounds really good.) You can't call it LC but this IS a bacon thread
Kat

Here is the link:

And my writing down what he said:

Woodford Smoked Maple Bacon Manhattan

Take bacon, sweet vermouth, maple syrup, bitters and put in a smoker for awhile, then put in cooler.
All the fat comes to the top and it leaves a nice syrup.

1 oz smoked maple bacon syrup
2 oz Woodford Bourbon

Pour in big glass – add ice cubes and give it a good stir. Stir it for a good while. “Candy” some bacon for a garnish.

Put fresh ice in a tumbler glass and strain the mixture into it. Add candied bacon garnish and serve.

And this one had got to be the best use of bacon drippings that I've
ever heard of

I thought it was interesting at least...I wonder how you'd candy bacon low carb style...sugar twin? Not that anybody would make it, but it's one of those recipes I'd like to attempt someday. I don't have a smoker.

This was a very popular salad a few years (decades) ago. I'd forgotten about it. Guess what we'll be having for lunch soon....
