What wonderful news!! We are Thrilled to know you are doing well.

There is a new book out just published on the Metabolic treatment of cancer, start at post 100 on this cancer thread: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...181#post9210181

Dr Nasha Winter had quote terminal unquote ovarian cancer 25 years ago ... so much for that doctor's prognosis. Because she is a naturopath I didn't have her website on my cancer resource document sent you, but you can bet it's been added now. http://optimalterrainconsulting.com With my traditional oncologist some of the herbs like mistletoe would brand me as too out there, but you are doing well and would consider all her techniques. I haven't read the book yet..just heard a good interview on 2KetoDudes...give that a listen.

Thanks for the update...Enjoy every moment.

Good article... one thing though, I'm usually pretty indulgent of Longo's "fasting mimicking diet." I'm feeling a bit ungenerous today. The whole point of the ketogenic diet as originally designed is as a fasting mimicking diet, maybe Longo's plan with a bit more carbs appeals to people the ketogenic diet doesn't--but you can stay closer to a fasting metabolism the less carbohydrate you eat, not making that the first go-to after fasting itself is just stupid. See? I did say ungenerous.

Exactly. I like being in ketosis or close to it, as it makes for an easy transition when I'm doing an extended IF. Staying in fat burning definitely has its benefits in many other ways. For those who don't crave or want more carbs, it just makes sense.

Janet, my Naturopath has me on several herbs, Mistletoe being one of them. Just a minute. I snap photos of the herb concoctions. St Mary's Thistle, Liquorice, Mistletoe, Dandelion Leaf, Astralgus. That is one of the first mixtures she put me on.
Thank you so much for the link. I should spend more time on this forum!
I am so grateful for my husband, my step children and my step grandchildren who bring light and joy into my life. Lots to be thankful for.

Oh! Jean, thank you so much. I am feeling well despite the existential angst associated with uncertainty. :-)

You are doing quite a lot to help with that, I think.

Brenda's story is a good one. She's got it together after many trials and errors on how to eat healthy while dealing with T2D. Sound familiar? It's good to have people like this willing to share their stories like several on this forum. Here's Brenda's:

Ketofest looks like it would be a fun and informative take. Hmmmmmmm . . . .

Darn. If I still lived in NJ I'd sign up for the Ketofest in a heartbeat, but it's just too far from Florida.

We wanted to go to Ketofest, but just too far and expensive -- plus we are moving and working . . .

Can't wait to hear about it, and maybe plan for next year.

I'm very tempted, and it's during a weekend that might work for me in July. That area of CT is about 5.5-6 hours from me, but it might be a nice weekend excursion.
