There is another thread about the Dr Hallberg NYT Op-ed but can't find it right now. Dr Katz is still going ballistic about this, he has a blog on VeryWell with a baractric surgeon that Prof Grant has analyzed and responded to:

THE PLANT-BASED DIET BIAS IN CRITICISING LCHF: KATZ AND CO

I'm so tired of the nutrition wars and the low carb hate mongers.

1.450 million views now of the TedTalk Talk that launched Dr Hallberg into finding a practical solution to diabetes. She turned her focus to research in addition to the clinical practice at Indiana she continues to run. Started a study with the support of VirtaHealth, where she is also a Medical Director. The first 70 day results are here, more results to come as this is a two year study. https://www.virtahealth.com/research

Another short article in a journal by Dr. Hallberg about Virta's first 70 day trial to reverse diabetes.

Her TEDtalk is now at 1.58 million views, posted less than 2 years ago.

Dr. Hallsberg and her talk, is the primary factor in reversing my H's diabetes. I have to say though (and apparently, I am not alone!) her voice really takes some getting used to! My H said "If a voice could be likened to nails on a blackboard, hers is it!" She's hard to listen to, but once you get over that 'hurdle' there isn't an ounce of nonsense in her talk!

Ahhh, but remember that her message is sound and conveyed with love and knowledge born from clinical experience . . . .

Oh absolutely! I don't disagree with a word of what you say! I'm in total agreement! I'm just saying that ... her voice ... is not easy ... to listen to....

Yes, she could use some voice lessons to use her diaphram rather than shallow breaths, throat and nose to speak.

What I find entrancing, in addition to the sound advice, is that all of her facial expressions, including eye-widening, pausing and arm gestures are identical to my SIL's (who is brown haired & brown eyed and had a bit of voice instruction during her education degrees).

Sorry, "like" is not available on this older forum platform. You would "reply" and make a positive comment. Then the person(s) who wrote it would get a "notification" had there are more responses to the thread, assuming they had daily notications "on".

I have never watched The Doctors before, but this clip was linked on FB. A short interview yesterday with Virta founder Sami Inkenin and a successful patient.

Ah, ha! There is a second part with Dr Sarah Hallberg.
DietDoctor has both links: https://www.dietdoctor.com/reversin...s-virta-doctors

Dr Hallberg, working with VirtaHealth, has a new video series. Very basic, in seven short parts.

Reversing Diabetes 101: the truth about carbs and blood sugar and Reversing Type two diabetes

ADA published their "Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes—2018" on-line.

http://care.diabetesjournals.org/co...Supplement_1/S1

Introduction starts:

Quote:
Diabetes is a complex, chronic illness requiring continuous medical care with multifactorial risk-reduction strategies beyond glycemic control. Ongoing patient self-management education and support are critical to preventing acute complications and reducing the risk of long-term complications. Significant evidence exists that supports a range of interventions to improve diabetes outcomes.

So much for the ADA ever considering it reversible with Diet.
