Default New Member underestimates sweeteners

Hi all.
I've been a new member since 02/24/03 and I have to admit that this diet has been good for me. Not, in weight loss, but for the overall well being that I experience. On the low-fat diets, I would always feel so full and bloated after a meal. It was so easy to overeat those carbs. With this diet, I don't have the urge to overeat, and feel quite satisfied with my meals. I had tried this diet two years ago, and though it was initially successful for me, and though I stuck it out for a while, I didn't lose that much weight. I've since always believed in the low carb WOL but had to dismiss it due to gallbladder problems. My gallbladder is long gone now, so I wanted to try this again. After more than one week on this, I realize that I was starting to make the same mistakes as I was doing the last time. I was eating diet jello after my meals. Boy, what a treat!!! However, from reading other posts, I have realized that artificial sweeteners do not belong on induction and that for some people, it can hinder weight loss. No wonder I havent lost any weight since the first couple of days. Can this be the reason? I stopped the jello yesterday. I hope this can put me back on track. The funny part is that I check my ketones, and have always been in the mid section. Why does this hinhibit weight loss? Maybe I shouldn't drink coffee either? even though it is decaf? What about sugarless gum? What else can I do for my awful bad breath? Please help me.
