Default Back Again

I've been here on and off since, if memory serves, 2016.
I'm 68 now, with some heart, lung and digestive issues. I need to lose weight as currently I am pretty much home bound. I need to get a handle on this binge eating. Thank you!

Glad you are back.

The benefit of homebound is you control the kitchen and the pantry!!

Welcome back, DK Swan!

Another benefit of being home bound is you have time to watch YouTube talks on nutrition. Podcasts are great if you can walk. Catch up on newer approaches to Semi Low Carb, new LC media and Research, General LC topics.

This forum is pretty quiet now, but check for the active sub-forums and the Journals of members who lost weight and maintain the loss.

Are you still on Prednisone? Side effect is increased hunger and fluid retention, possibly contributing to the binge eating?
Have you been able to get enough potassium from foods now? Here's an update on the Potassium info shared in January. https://optimisingnutrition.com/hig...-foods-recipes/

Last time you posted in your journal you were not eating much food at all. https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?p=9451018. Making sure you have enough protein and nutrients would be a great Re-Start. More members may see your posts in your journal. If you would like support and suggestions, Happy to help

I want this to be permanent this time around.

Good luck with your reboot!

Thanks so much! I will check out the links.

I was off the Prednisone until the end of last year, when asthma flare caused me to start up again. I'm working on getting off it again.

Welcome back to sanity with food. Post cancer, I'm only on one drug, but it keeps my hair thin and forces me to stick to Plan or gain. Nothing like fear to keep me on the straight and narrow. I also (still) do my exercise walking at 3am every day. This helps keep osteopenia away and I don't have to take dangerous drugs.
You can do this.

The prize is great! I'm would not be alive today had I not gone on Atkins, and found this board, back in 2003.

Learning, and accomplishment, should never end. One feeds the other.
