Hi everyone! I am a drop out of weight watchers and ediets!!! 25 years ago I was following a low carb diet and was very thin. All of the new diets that came out stressing low fat pulled me away from what I knew worked for me.

After reaching 184 lbs, on a 5'4" female frame, I was desperate. I joined weight watchers and lost 25 lbs., reached a plateau and remained there for 6 months, and it never even occurred to me to cheat on my diet. Then I found ediets on the www and joined that. I immediately lost 2 lbs., and remained there until I got discouraged and gained 10 lbs.

Remembering the low carb diet I use to follow, I bought the atkins diet book. I started the diet 4 days ago and have lost 3.5 lbs. with no hunger, a lot more energy and sleeping a lot better already.

Hello there Loser53!

So glad you found this forum! You're going to love it here. I have also gone the low-fat way many many times before and have always gained it all back. Low-carb is definitely the way to go for me, and I'm sure it's going to do great for you as well. It is wonderful to go through life with energy, with not feeling hungry all the time, and just plain feeling good!

Be sure you drink plenty of water and take your supplements. If you ever have any questions, problems or concerns, feel free to post and ask. There are a lot of really friendly, experienced people here who love to help out. We're all in this together!

Welcome to the forum, Loser! And welcome back to LC. I agree with you, the improved sleep, the energy and the lack of insatiable hunger are wonderful benefits of this WOL.

Glad to have you with us.

Good luck to you! We are at about the same starting weight with the same goals, ( I am 5'5"). I am a really slow loser but you seem to be off to a good start.
