Then why does he want people to eat it at least once a month?!?!?!?!

Ah, emergency. I will know better next time.

If you had only a couple of eggs, the amount of syrup in the fake mayo would have been minuscule. But if you like deviled eggs as much as I do - it might have been a significant amount!

My work-around for deviled eggs is egg salad. They have the same ingredients & taste the same. They just aren't finger food. But I saw a lc recipe on (I think) Nom Nom Paleo that suggested putting the egg salad in mini-pepper halves. I'm going to do that for the next pot luck.

DH and I went into a health food store a few months ago. We separated in search of the meat department. Round and round until we both met and realized there was No Meat, anywhere. Even the cheese was imitation! We got out of there really fast, almost ran out as a matter of fact! LOL

As a concession to me because I said I could never be vegan, that I like meat too much. He'd prefer no one eat meat ever, but if you feel you must eat meat, do so only once or twice a month.

This is just plain silly. The MD after his name does not make him an expert, just gives him the veneer of expertise. Dig down beneath that veneer and you just get another true believer who cares nothing for "evidence". I'm a true believer too, a true believer in lchf, but there is "evidence" to back that up as well as my own n=1 study. I have lost patience with ignorance, especially when it comes from people who wield power over people's behaviors, like doctors.

He firmly believes that science and doctors are 98% behind a plant-based diet. He says there are always those out there who believe otherwise even when faced with the "facts," hence the 2%. He doesn't harp on it, and he's not my primary physician. He was the one who prescribed my bio-identical hormones, my adrenal testing, my food tolerance test, etc. My primary doc is mainstream and doesn't put stock in those things. As for the bio-identical hormones, he'd probably think Premarin (derived from pregnant horse urine) is the way to go. Mainstream Western medicine all the way. Still, if I had a heart attack or a something, I'd rather be in the hands of my primrary doc.

Gosh, he sounds so close on some things, so far away on others
