I took the kids out for a movie and lunch today. Normally I would get grilled chicken or steak when dinning out (which isn't often), but it's Good Friday. I don't care for fish and there wasn't any grilled shrimp. I ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and they arrived breaded. I don't know why I assumed they would grill instead of bread it. So I ate them and am very worried about the carb count. Also, the kids had left over fries and I said I would eat ONE. One turned into about TEN. Very upset with myself and worried I will gain. Today is day 6 for me and I was down 6 lbs. Cannot believe I made this mistake.
I think you've had a good learning experience. So there's no need to beat yourself up. I would however pretend like tomorrow is the start of your induction and go for 2 weeks from then just to make sure your body is all straightened out and to let you get over the cravings.
One of the wonderful things about low carb is that you can just pick up where you left off and go from there. Beating yourself up will only serve to stress you out.
There's no need to get upset. You just have to think that was a slip up and that you'll get right back at it. Don't make it an excuse to turn it into a cheat day and that you'll just start again tomorrow or on Monday. Things like this are going to happen, the way to turn this into a lifestyle is to pick yourself back up and get back at it without turning back.
Don't beat yourself up, just get RIGHT back to your regular LC eating plan and move on. If you didn't eat a ton of calories (and it sounds like you didn't), you probably won't gain anything but water and stall your weight loss a little.
That's how I think of things like that anyway. Hang in there!
