I'm looking for a primary care physican in the Detroit Metropolitan area who is low-carb friendly and does not prescribe statins.

Anyone know of one?

I have a disabled sister living in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, who is getting terrible care from her doc. My sister is 62 and her doc has her on a statin drug, an Avandia-like drug (even though she doesn't have diabetes or even pre-diabetes), and about a dozen other drugs. I strongly feel her mental capacity has deteriorated over the past number of years largely due to all these drugs. Her doc has her on a (you guessed it) high-carb/low-fat diet.

Did you find a doctor in MI? I have a suggestion if not, he is in Ann Arbor. Let me know. I am new to this forum so I just saw your post.

No, I never did. Ann Arbor might be a bit too far away as the staff at the home need to drive her there (as opposed to a family member or friend). Can you PM me with the name and number?
