I'm new here. I've been trying to maintain a low carb WOE for quite a few months now. I lost a little weight but not much probably because I never committed to a plan whole heartedly. I always found days where I just caved for one reason or another. But I never stopped LC altogether. I recieved many benefits from LC, it is important to know that LC does more than cause weight loss.
I read the CAD book a few months ago but never got a chance to start:
One thing low carbing did do for me is allow me to get pregnant. Now I have my first little one on the way and I wonder if this plan will work. I certainly don't want to lose weight but I don't want to gain 40lbs either seeing that I'm already 50lbs overweight and I'm short to boot.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this plan would be a healthy one to follow while pregnant? Remember I'm not trying to lose weight I just want to eat heathfully and low-carbing has been the best thing for me. I'm interested in this plan because I've decided I don't want to give up pasta and potatoes forever. I just want a sensible way to eat them without gaining a ton of weight.
I've searched for forums but have not found any really active ones. This one seems to be the most active so I decided to join and get some opinions.
I would think that it would work fine as long as you listened to your body and ate enough and balanced your meals. I would make sure I had a fruit with my RM. I would think that eating this way would be better than being pregnant and eating junk food like I did! I would try it, see how you feel and than discuss what you have been eating with your doctor to see if they have any suggestions. Make sure you take prenatals! Congratulations on the pregnancy, it is a very exciting time of life. Enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you I CAN for your reply.
I believe too that following the plan can't be any worse than binging and eating junk all day...which I have slipped and done.
hi Dreamer-
congrats!
Please check the forum area for pregnancy and nursing! LOts of good info- then go to your doctor or midwife. Very important, IMHO, to have their input and approval. If you don't eat for 2, don't eat junk or drink juice or soda, you will be fine!
Welcome too!
