Question Atkins Shakes cause stalls??

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced any stalls after drinking the atkins shakes?? I had them for breakfast last week and I had no results in the scale this week. I am not concerned b/c I think I lost inches and I am still in ketosis. But since the only thing I changed last week were the shakes and was wondering about stalls?? TIA

Stalls are often a result of hidden sugar alcohols. The Atkin's shakes have sucralose and not sugar alcohols. I drink one 4-5 times a week for breakfast.

Different people's metabolisms react in different ways to sugar alcohols. Some seem to do fine, while others seem to stall out. I asked a dietician about it a couple of weeks ago (a really unusual professional who doesn't have a knee-jerk reaction against any diet other than low-fat). She advised that when computing nutritional values, she always takes Total Carbs, then subtract *all* the fiber and *one-half* of the sugar alcohols. This approach produces a considerably different calculation than the advertised ECC on most labels.

I've yet to try the Atkins shakes, but the Endulge and Carbolite bars haven't given me any problems yet (fingers crossed).

The shakes don't contain the sugar alcohols you find in the bars, so they shouldn't cause a stall. In fact, many people (myself included) find they increase weight loss when replacing a meal. I have 1 daily for breakfast. Remember a stall is 3-4 weeks without losing weight or inches, so a week is far from a stall. No matter what you do there will be times where you don't lose for a week, especially as you get closer to goal. So try to be patient & just stick with it. Good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne

Some people do stall on them.

I know I am not in a stall, I was just curious if they do cause stalls since I have never tried them before. I enjoy them actually and I have been having them for breakfast. Thanks for all responses
