Default Hello everyone from Las Vegas 😊

Hello,
I want to introduce myself to this forum, since my husband was on here a few years back and made unbelievable progress in his weight loss journey. I am convinced low carb works, since my husband (slmrickman on here) lost over 250 pounds since starting in Sept. 2011 and looks amazing! I still cannot lose the 30+ pounds I have been wanting to lose since he started, and it's a little embarrassing considering what he's accomplished. I don't want to be wearing larger shirts than him now...

Welcome and good luck!

I've just started back after trying a few times but not really sticking with it.

I love what one of the posters in my new thread wrote "stop stopping!".

Haha...it always starts with 'just a little tiny piece won't hurt'... then it's downhill from there. I did lose 42 pounds a few years ago, but gained it all back, and then some. I am determined to stick to it this time.

Hi Rickswife..

He did an outstanding job. I was trying to PM him to see what his typical daily meal was like. If you know can you share?

Joe

Hi bigjoe42...when he was on induction, he was strictly eggs and meat. He went to McDonald's and ordered triple scrambled eggs with sausage just about every day for breakfast. We always kept lots of cooked and sliced sausage and bacon in the fridge and lots of hard boiled eggs for quick fixes. After induction, we would always make huge amounts of casserole style meals...riced cauliflower with low-carb black soy beans, ground beef, veggies, cheese, spices..... just a bunch of varying ingredients and mix it all up. Then he would eat that for his meals with some brown rice later on in the program. We always made recipes from Linda's Low Carb site. Always had a lot of the mashed cauliflower on hand as well. It is important to always have different things ready just in case you get a craving. I know we were always cooking on this diet! Some times I would make the Oopsie Rolls and we would go to In N Out burger and swap the bun. We never really had a set menu plan, but stuck with the guidelines for the different phases. This diet was easy because I think the food is satisfying.
Rick is now strictly low fat, high protein these days. He spends a lot of time in the gym and I think his trainer steers him away from all the high fat foods now. But it was Atkins plan that helped him shed all the weight

2 key strategies for low carb! Gotta be willing to cook and cook ahead. I used to cook veggies en masse and keep them in the fridge for snacks...when I was being pro-active that is.

Welcome to the site and good luck!

Couldn't agree more! Easy to stay on plan that way.
