Default Monk Fruit

Has anyone tried pure monk fruit as a sweetener? I'm looking for an all-natural sugar replacement, and stevia is too bitter for my tastes. I'm just wondering if anybody's had luck with monk fruit. It's kind of expensive so I want feedback before I try any, although I read that you can use quite a bit less than regular sugar, so it would last for a while. Does it have an aftertaste? Is it less bitter than stevia? Thoughts?

I used to buy some that if it got the slightest amount of water from the air would turn into a solid block. Great tasting stuff though! If you try it, let us know what brand you get and what you think of it.

I have some granulated and some packets. I just stuck my finger into the granulated and tasted it: no aftertaste for me and not bitter. I don't use it often, but that's because I've tried every AS known, chemical compounds and natural and right now I'm using cyclamates I buy from Canada. I've also cut way back on all sweeteners.

Do you buy them online somewhere? Liquid cyclamates are the best, IMHO, when I need a sweet boost. Every summer, when I go to Canada, I stock up and buy enough to get me through the year. One of my biggest disappointments about breaking my wrist and missing my trip this summer was that I didn't get to stock up!

P.S. I have not tried monk fruit. I do like Swerve here in the US.

I'll PM you with the link where I buy my cyclamates. I got the liquid once, and really liked it, but most of the bottles leaked enroute. Now I just get the packets. In Canada it is Sugar Twin, not to be confused with the USA version. Since you'll be going to Canada again someday, you could get the liquid there.
