Default Iced Tea has Carbs??

I'm bummed. I just found out that UNSWEETENED Iced Tea has carbs. It has something like .55g of carbs per 8oz.

No No No...I love Iced Tea...I chug that stuff...

I will still drink a little, but I guess I have to cut it down to say 16oz. I can afford that. Oh, The price we pay. :-)

Are you brewing your own? The USDA database does list a small amount of carbs for brewed tea. I just made 2 quarts of Luzianne Decaf and have lived on that stuff for seven years, but I've never counted it.

Well it looks like the kind I brew doesn't have any carbs according to that database.

Lipton Iced Tea

Thanks for the URL...I have just been doing google searches for carbs. I usually use myfitpal to get nutritional info. Thanks.

I use MFP also, but they ususally report the way the manufacturer does on label. "Rounding" is allowed, and other rules that make the fractions of carbs disappear. Cream is a good example, in 1T none, but look at a cup and there they are. One reason the Atkins and Westman diets work. Eat the no or low carb meats but cream and vegetables are in volume measures. No carb counting needed, but the carbs are limited by definition. Sipping my first iced tea as I type

Iced tea or any tea is one of my go to beverages, and it's a surprise to me that plain tea would have carbs unless it was processed with something else. You're fine with pure tea, and it's good stuff!!!!!

It is amazing to me how one tea has carbs and another doesn't. Same with coffee.. brewed coffee zero carbs.. but my old favorite Americano or an espresso has carbs! I think two.

Yes it does but in small amounts. The more processes it involves carbs will add up.

Brewed coffee has carbs too, it's just that it's small enough where the rounding issue applies. Brewed is similar espresso/americano in terms of carbs per serving size: espresso is ~.5g/ounce and brewed is ~.5g/cup

and ~SKOL if the carbs in iced tea are mucking up your macros, I think you've got some tweaking to do elsewhere.
