Toddy and Sarah seem to have gotten my disease--not moving for a while.

I'm just shooting for breaking into the 260's by Halloween. But it's been slow moving lately. To lose just a pound or two in a little over a week doesn't seem like much to ask. We'll see.

16 days of eating and being merry (no drinking except tons of sparkling water)
10/22 160.7

I started out doing pretty good and then gradually I realized that if I did not eat bread and potatoes I was going to pretty much be a drain on the rest of the group. Of course then I went for it all, including some great desserts. Once I started I could easily go back to old habits. Including a couple of days that I ate a big bag of salt and vinegar crisps (what they call chips in GB) ..the whole bag. I had my last ice cream on the plane yesterday just a tiny serving. I am glad that I got down so low before I left, so although I was almost at goal I am now back to my steady spot for the last several months. We walked for miles every day up hill and down and all around. So I am sure that helped.

I did have some great stuff. My dil bought me some double cream which is like a thick clotted cream. It is made from jersey cow milk and is so rich, I ate a lot of that. In GB they put milk in their tea and coffee, but it is rich creamy good milk.

Even last night when I got home my heart told me, get back on track, you are home and you will survive.

Bev, I was sorry to read about all the problems you are having. It is such a difficult situation. I remember when my mil died in a nursing home. They called and told us and said come right now and take care of her stuff etc. We had to take her across Texas too. My husband is an only child. She had sisters but they were of little help. I ordered the coffin and arranged a graveside service over the phone because my husband was so devastated that he couldn't do it.

Please know that we are thinking of you and want to support you. I haven't read all of the posts for the last 2 weeks so I don't know what updates you have posted. Let us know how things are going.
