But I'm not just starting - I've been doing this for a couple years now. However, I didn't do lchf very well at first (Atkins shakes & bars!). I've done increasingly better, but still not perfect.

Consistently? Some people do lc with the bars and shakes fine but they certainly aren't for everyone or even most in my opinion.

The truth is that doing everything right, some people have genetically crappy Cholesterol levels. If you aren't liking what your dr says, maybe a second opinion??

I don't care what my cholesterol is. I care what my triglycerides are, and last I checked, they were pretty low.

If they know so much about cholesterol, why did they tell us to avoid eggs and sugar is fine and ooooooooo red meat will kill ya?

In other words, they have been wrong about so much I no longer have any faith in their thinking about the readings which started it all! So much diabetes and heart disease from this theory!

I'm staying away from it.

In addition: does your doctor know what cholesterol looks like on low carb? I would bet... NOT.
