Default losing last few pounds with atkins

hello. i am looking for advice on losing my last bit of weight. i have lost over 100 pounds with weight watchers and have recently started doing atkins. i want to lose 13 pounds. i lost about 4 during induction and now my weight loss has stopped. does anybody have any advice for people trying to lose a smaller amount of weight. has anybody gone through the same thing and been successful? thanks.

Hey Jan! Congratulations on losing 100 pounds! I wish I had great news for you but towards the end, weight loss slows no matter which plan you are on. Atkin's is not faster than other plans really except for during the initial induction phase. If it is your first time on Atkin's, you will be more successful than you would if you had low carbed before. I so wish I had never gone off this plan and had truly cycled through all four Atkin's phases. If you feel good, are not hungry all the time (like Weight Watchers must have been) and are enjoying the food, just try to focus on the goal and know that you will get there. Slower weight loss is usually more permanent. I am expecting 2-3 pounds per month and if it comes off quicker, then that will be nice. It would be nice to have it all off by summer but I am so relieved not to be hungry all the time so have decided to be patient and let my body do its thing!!! Stay on plan and you will not be disappointed.

Yes, I feel the same, Janjanwhit. I do not have much left to lose, but the last 5 lbs are killing me mentally... lol
These days, I try not to think about how much I lose, but stick with the plan instead.

I am soooo with you! I have lost 100lbs. previously through low fat, calorie counting, etc. and switched to Atkins end of March. Lost 6lbs first week and nothing since. It's killing me, I only want to get off about 20 more. If my body would cooperate I could've made it by June, but doesn't look like it's gonna happen now. UGH! I really want to stay low carb though, it's so much more enjoyable and doable as a lifestyle. Don't now that I have any advice but I can certainly relate!

i am at the same stage as you just now
i have lost over 20 stone (280 Lbs ) and i am at my last 10 Lbs
it does slow down. i was loosing near 10 Lbs to 14 Lbs a week

one tip is increase exercise or even just movingt about. house work taking the kids or dog a walk and so on and the other is to make sure you have increased your fat intake. very important

Have a look at this http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...16&page=1&pp=15

good luck
