Hi, I Am Just Starting The Atkins Plan. This Is My 4th Day And I Feel Great. I Don't Have A Scale Yet But I Can Tell I Have Been Losing A Lot Of Water. I Need To Lose 145 Lbs. I Have High Blood Sugar And The Doctor Said To Watch My Sugars. Other Than That I Am Healthly Except For My Weight Of Course. Also Went To A Bar-b-que Recently And Had To Try 3 Chairs Before I Could Fit Into One And I Was So Ashamed I Said "that It", When I Get Home I'm Going On Atkins And I Did. I Need All The Help That Anyone Can Give Me. I Have Been On Diets Most Of My Life, But Years Ago I Threw Out My Scales And Said The Heck With It, And I Packed On More Pounds. But Now I Am Tired Of Being Tired, Fat, And Not Being Able To Find Clothes That Look Nice On Me. Reading About All The Success Stories Has Helped Encourage Me And I Hope One Day Someone Will Be Reading Mine.

Welcome! You've taken that first big step in making the decision to change your life.

If you can avoid that scale (nasty nasty thing) then avoid buying one. I have one but only weigh myself every four weeks. I rely more on how my clothes fit and measurements (waist, bust, hips, etc.) The scale can be your best friend and your worst enemy.

Good luck and welcome!

Hi,

I can really relate to all you said. Sometimes a lot of people from our church go out to Mazio's after church on Sunday night. If the round corner booths and the tables were already taken, I could not fit into most of the other booths. It was really embarrassing. I haven't been to Mazio's since I was on my first two weeks induction. Since then I have lost over thirty pounds. We plan to go to Mazio's in a couple of weeks to celebrate a birthday. I am pretty sure I will fit in the booths now, and am really kind of excited to go and see. I know that sounds really silly, but that's how I feel. When we go, I will eat the buffalo wings. They are really good and very low carb. Anyway, I am glad to meet you, and I know I will be reading your success story before long.
Have a great day,
Martha

Hi Everyone. I Feel Real Good, And I'm Doing Good Except I Think I May Have Been Eating Too Many Veggies. So I Am Cutting Down On Them. I Have Been Going Over My Carbs Per Day Because Of The Veggies, So I'll Do More Of The Meat And Eggs. I Still Can't Weight Myself Because Of No Scale Yet And I Know It Has Only Been 5 Days But I Do Feel A Difference Already. My Stomach Isn't As Bloated, And Talk About Going To The Bathroom, Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!but I Don't Mind Because I Know From Being On Other Diets(which I Could Never Stick To) That That Means You Are Losing. So I'm Very Hopefull That I Have Lost A Pound Of Two Anyway, And I Know The First Few Pounds Are Water. Tell Me Something. When Do I Get To Do A Journal?or Is This A Journal? I'm Not Too Savvy About These Things. Thanks. Good Luck To Everyone.

Hi Everyone, My Week-end Went Great. I Had 3 Pieces Of Fried Perch That Were Dipped In Egg And Bread Crumbs, But That Was The Only "cheating" I Did, So I Feel Good About That. I Have Been Telling Most People That I Am On Atkins, I Don't Know If This Is A Good Thing Or Not, But I'm Hoping It Will Add To My Commitement, I Thought I'd Get A Lot Of "that Diet Isn't Healthy For You" Talk, But I Haven't. I Have Noticed A Difference In Energy, I Even Cooked Yesterday, Ha.ha. I Also Mopped My Floors, Did 2 Loads Of Wash, Took In 2 Pair Of Pants, Yippeeeeeeeeeee, Washed Dishes, Made My Bed, Now I Know These Are Things You Guys Do All The Time, But My Husband Is Retired And I Work So He Usually Does These Things, But He Was Working Outside And I Had The Energy, Which Has Been Missing For Oh So Long, So I Did Them And I Didn't Mind One Bit. I Am Noticing I Can Bend Over Much Easier, The Roll Of Fat That I Have Over Top Of My Protruding Stomach Has Gone Down Too. My Face Also Isn't As Puffy As It Was, And This Is Just After One Week. I Am Extremely Happy With This Diet, I Never Thought It Would Be This Easy. I Am Also Walking On My Treadmill. 1/2 Mile In The Morning And 1/2 Mile In The Afternoon. I Am Hoping To Work Up To 3 Miles A Day. And I Know I'll Get There. I'm Not Craving Sweets At All. Hope You All Had A Great Week-end And Wish You All A Lot Of Success. And Again It's Nice To Have Support From All Of You. Thanks Again. Peg

Congrats Peg!

Don't be ashamed to tell people you're on Atkins... It's not a diet, it's more of a way of life. If people don't understand then they've never had to worry about changing their eating habits. People that care will encourage you to do your best on this new way of life.

From what you wrote it sounds like you are well on your way to changing you life. Have another successful week!

Wow, Peg, you're going great! There is no better feeling than when you KNOW you've lost and you can feel it in your body. To heck with the scale, lol.
I love doing this, it IS so easy, and it's great being inspired by people who are excited about it. Just want to encourage you to keep it up and keep letting us know how it's going.
