Unhappy High Cholesterol Levels now

I have been low carbing for over a year now and for the most part have maintained my weight loss. I have gained back about 10 lbs.and that varies week by week from 5 lbs to 10 lbs. depending on the amount of salt I've had or if I've fudged a little on a wonderful dessert!!!
The problem I'm facing now is that when I started on this WOE my chol was high 230 and my dr. said that he thought that losing weight would remedy the situation, so I chose the CAD and lost 30 lbs. Lo and Behold at the next blood draw my chol had dropped 16 points and the dr. & I were thrilled. This year at my annual physical & blood draw, my weight was still down from the year before but my cholesterol was 281!!!!! He put me on Lipitor to see if that helps and I have to go have another blood draw in 3 months to see if the meds helped.
I was feeling really good about the WOE that I was following and now I'm confused. I know that I'm a carbo addict and that if I go back to eating "normal" according to dietary standards that I will gain weight, if I stay on CAD/CALP I may not help reduce my chol levels any. I also think I am going to increase the fiber like even more salads, and raw vegetables in my diet to see if I can decrease the time that food stays in my system. I don't want to change from the CAD /CALP system because it is the only way of eating that has ever worked for me and I've tried them all!!
If anyone else has had any of these situations happen to them or has any suggestions please post to me.
Thanks,
Helen
