Question How much can I lose?

Hi, I know this is probably way too soon to be asking this, but I want to lose 100 pounds in less than a year, is this possible on this diet??

Welcome to the forum!!
Don't worry about how much you are going to lose... just get started!
Whatever you end up weighing in a year, will be less than you are now and you will be healthier and more energetic to boot!
Open a journal..to track all your progress and you will be amazed at all the changes that you make on this weightloss journey.
Please don't see this way of eating.. as a diet..or a quick way to lose weight, you really need to commit to this being a longterm, life plan..then you will never again have to worry about your weight.
Others have lost that much weight in a year and kept it off!!
All things are possible, depending on your commitment and determination.
I look forward to hearing of your success.

Hi browniidgirl
Welcome to the forum. The short answer is, technically yes...you could lose 100lbs in less than a year, but that will require a steady 2lb/week loss. In the beginning it will come of quickly, but a sustained weight loss of 2lbs/week will require diet and exercise. You can do it, but you'll have to work for it!!

Like kiwigirl said, just get started!! No matter were you are in a year, it will be a better place than you are today as long as you start! Best of luck!!

Hi and welcome!
Yes you can. I've lost 65 lbs. since June 16th. Of course I just blew it big time over the holiday and put 10 back on! But I'm back in the ballgame and will get it back off! Just make sure you use wisdom and take care of yourself as you loose the weight. Remember not everyone looses the same. The main thing is that you start feeling better. You will have good weeks and even not so good ones from time to time. But the numbers will go down. My suggestion to you is just jump in feet first with the rest of us and see what happens!

Cissie

Welcome aboard! Some people lose faster than others - plain & simple. I myself am a slow loser - it has taken me a year & 4 months to lose 50 pounds, and I am a very strict low carber - I hardly ever go off plan. It just depends on your body. For your sake, I hope you can do it! Were here for you no matter what!

Hello and welcome to the forums! Don't set your goals to high at first because you may become discouraged. It is possible to lose that much in a year but it takes a strong determination and will. But like someone siad above, you'll be better off in one year from now if you start now. The results will follow! Best of luck to you on your LC journey.

Yes it's possible.

I lost 110 in 7 months.

Granted I fell off the wagon gained 30 and I'm just now getting back to the 110 mark but it is possible.

But do yourself a favor, don't go by what the scale says, measure too. I've been up and down the same damn numbers for weeks now and yet I'm getting smaller inches wise.

I think it's my skin catching up from the rapid weight loss but nonetheless, inches matter too so keep track of it.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

Follow the Atkins book to the T.

Don't cheat, drink loads of water, exercise.

I also ate high in fat. Still try to. Feel free to read my journal.

I have menu's posted in there daily of what I ate.

Good luck.

If you read the success stories, you'll read about members, just like yourself, that started this WOL, hoping for the best.

A lot of them stayed faithful to their mission. They never cheated, or walked away. They put their focus on losing weight, and recorded it in their journals, and now have success stories to share.

Enjoy your journey!
