Question Fiber Carbs???

Hi Everyone~
I've only been LC'ing for 10 days and am doing well. My question is regarding fiber carb counts and subtracting them from carbs. I must admit that I didn't see this reference in Atkins book. But then again I didn't read every single page. Can someone tell me where this advise comes from? Not that I doubt all the posts I've been reading, this is a terrific group and I'm so glad to have found it. I'd just like to have some shed on the subject.
Thanks!
Krista

Hi Krista!

Yes, Dr. Atkins does address this at least in his 2 latest editions of his book. I've currently loaned my book to my stepmom, so I can't give you the page reference. You could check the Atkins website www.atkinscenter.com I believe that it's mentioned there as well.
It does make sense, though, once you understand that the body cannot digest fiber. We lack the necessary enzymes to do so. If you can't digest them, why count them?
I believe that the Eades also address this in their book, Protein Power as well.
