Default Rebounder Observations

Thinking of buying rebounder (mini-trampoline)? I just bought one yesterday, a replacement for the one I used years ago. Got it used off Craig's list for $25. It has bands, not springs. I think it will be adequate for normal usage--once or twice a week.

Today I used it with Leslie Sansone's Walk and Kick workout--a walking workout incorporating simple kickboxing moves.

The rebounder reduces impact and increases intensity at the same time. Also, it increases the use of core muscles required to keep your balance. I found that it's important to remember to land on the whole foot--landing on toes causes stress on the lower back. Using the rebounder made this workout sweatier for sure!

I'm glad I got the rebounder. I'll use it for indoor cardio days, probably adapting my Sansone walk workouts, or simply putting on some Motown and jogging to the beat.

If you're looking for something to jolt you into the exercise habit, this could be it. It's kinda fun.

hi Barbara

Reading your post the other day prompted me to blow the dust off my ol' rebounder! It's a foldable Needak; hidden behind an always-open door and easy to forget .

I followed Leslie Sansone's basic Walk Away the Pounds (1 mile), and Wowza! .. really intensified the workout, even without using weights . Obviously you can't do the large side-to-side movements or moving forward and back, but still can push down into the mat with each leg and lean the body from side-to-side.

Many folks think the purpose is to bounce up off the mat as high as possible every time. Not so! A lot of the "action" with a rebounder comes from pushing down into the mat with your whole foot, and the heel especially.

I bow before your ability to do the kicking workout . I have Sansone's Walk & Kick dvd, so I know that good core strength is needed even on flat ground, let alone on a rebounder!

Beside cardio, muscle toning, and weight loss, according to the 'Truth About Cancer' doctors, it keeps your lymph system moving, which helps boost your immune system. I just got rid of my old garage sale rebounder last summer, before I read this. Now I'm wanting one that folds up

Hellooo, Rebounders! As it turns out, I haven't yet used the rebounder as much as expected so far. When the weather is warm, I'm outside walking. And I got a new/old Kathy Smith floor aerobics video that I like a lot.

But there it sits, waiting for the moment. I have space for it. However, my old rebounder wasn't foldable--it just propped conveniently against a wall.

I'm putting Leslie/rebounder on my list this week!
