Default long term low carbers?

Hey Question, anyone that's been VLC for more than 6 months, if you 'wanted' to do an OGTT, or test your carb tolerance after all that rest from carbs, how long would you have to 'carb up' for?

I found a post where someone from another forum was Keto for ages, they tested and had to eat rice each meal, for like 4-5 days, then found out they 're-adapted' and had good normal post carb blood sugars. Then went back to keto, the idea is, there are no long term 'pancreas' issues like, it doesn't downgrade, but just rests until you re-introduce it to carbs, then it can ramp right back up.

Anyone else try that? Any insights?

I remember reading advice to carb up for 3 days before you take the OGTT , but haven't personally tried it.

Multiple sources say that it takes about 4 days for the liver to switch back and forth between carb storing vs. ketosis. Somewhere on the internet are plots of the differing types of ketones and how they increase and decrease in concentration. Again, four days is the rule of thumb.

Some say getting off of carbs heals the pancreas to at least some small extent. As I'm not type II I don't keep track of the details.
