Default 7 months on LC and my cycle is normal!

Hi all,

I don't usually post over here but I wanted to post my victory. I have never had a cycle less than 65 days in my entire adult life (I'm 31) except when on the pill. Starting in August my period as come every 34-38 days...almost like clockwork! Three months in a row now!

I have been LC'ing since January and I have lost 26 lbs. It seems a bit slow but I actually did maintenance for four months in the summer so I'm very happy. I'm feeling really good.

I'm just really thrilled and excited too. I'm hoping that we might be able to conceive when we try again next year without any "help".

I told my gynecolgist this week and he seemed to think that I must have missed my periods before and that they were only regular because I remembered to write them on his special form. Like I haven't been tracking them in my daytimer for like ten years! Grrrr.

Most women I know complain about that monthly TOM, I have to agree with you though that having a "Regular" cycle is miraculous!!!!

I didn't have that benefit until I turned 38 and started LC ing. Be glad you caught it earlier than I did.

Congrats!!! I know most women hate having their period but I haven't had one in two years and one of my main goals is to get my cycle back on track without the aide of birth control pills!

Congrats!

I've found that when I'm low carb, my cycle reverts to normal. Otherwise, I'm "lucky" enough to have 1-2 per year. The doctors of course blame it on my "morbid obesity" but I blame it on carbs. As long as I am low carb, TOM shows, regardless of weight. When I eat high carb, it doesn't show.

Like you, I finally started to get cycles again when I low carbed. That combined with metformin and herbs and I was good to go.

My periods have become very regular since going gluten free and treating my thyroid.

I am the exact same way!

I actually figured out this relationship around age 21, and would fib to the gyno about my cycle b/c I didn't want crap dietary advise or to be put on the pill, when I knew that all I had to do was cut out grains/sugar.

For help with conception both you and DH might want to supplement with vitamin D3.

It improves fertility and sperm motility.
