Well, maybe he meant something other than what I think of when you say "separates" and "flushes". It's all mixed, and unless something goes seriously wrong, most of it is assimilated.

I don't know about separation in egestion, but I have eaten something that disagreed with me. Eaten something AFTER the disagreeable item, and then thrown up JUST the disagreeable item. I did this with hot dogs. Or at least mostly the disagreeable item. Very little of anything else.. Weird. At the time, I just figured the other stuff was absorbed or went on.
