Default caffeine cold turkey

Dear people,

My tip is: when starting Atkins, taper off caffeine gradually, not cold turkey.

Do not do what I did. I started Atkins and did caffeine cold-turkey withdrawal at the same time. If you are heavy coffee drinker, cold-turkey can lower your blood pressure and give you terrific headaches! Add that to starting the Atkins, and you have the recipe for a pretty hellish week.

I used to drink a lot of coffee too. About 10 cups every morning. I used to bring the last cup to the gym with me, leave it in the car and have it on my way home.

I started Atkins and after the 2nd and 3rd day, I made it but didn't drink it. Every day for a week I made it just incase I wanted it but never did.

The craving really stopped and no headaches!

I gave up coffee about a month into Atkins, just for the hell of it. I now drink various caffeinated teas from Stash.com---great stuff.

Anyhow, coffee is an intestinal stimulant. When I gave it up, I also gave up being "regular".
I now supplement with psyllium caps and oat bran caps.
