Question Australia Query--somewhat urgent

Hi all--I have some friends who are leaving for Australia in September for about a year (I think--the dad is a professor). They'll be staying in Canberra.

Here's my query: is there a cool shop in Canberra that has a website where I could order a gift certificate for a girl who has just turned 13? She wants a Target (US discount[?] dept store) gift card so she can buy stuff and take it with her, but I was thinking it might be cool to get stuff there (and mom might like not having to pack too much "stuff!").

Thanks loads!!!
Eri

Hi Eri,

We have Target here - the website is www.target.com.au so maybe you can find what you want there.

Even though this is off-topic, I'll move this to the Aussie subforum so more Aussies will see and maybe have some more suggestions for you.

If you're looking for something online, you could try: http://www.wishlist.com.au/

I always used them when I was living overseas and sending gifts home. I've also sent my Dad e-gift certificates and allowed him to choose his own gifts.

But, as Rosebud suggested - try Target. They now have a pretty cool young women's fashion line. You should be able to purchase a gift certificate online.

Cheers,
Wabi

Thanks Rosebud and Wabi! Target in Australia has much nicer stuff than Target USA--and they are not connected evidently so a gift card purchased here won't work there.
*big sigh* I might try to get some Target gift vouchers and have them sent to the 13-year old. I noticed there was one store in Canberra and 3 close by.
Anyway, one day I want to visit that part of the world! Constellations at night not what I'm used to--what a wonderful universe we live in!
