Unhappy I need help!!! Is this really the diet for me?

Hi everyone! I am also finally on the Atkins's diet after years of suffering from what I knew was PCOS. I knew what was going on in my very early 20's. Doctors would never listen to me and always just wanted to shove birth control pills in my face. I finally found a doctor just getting out of medical school who was very bright and acknowledged the fact that I knew more about my body than she did. She did a 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test and I was very very positive for insulin resistance. I started out at 500mg a day and now am up to 1000mg a day.
Anyways, currently I am about 6 days ( in which I've lost about 6 pounds) into the Induction phase of Atkins and I am about 7 days away from my period. However, I am starting to bleed right now. This would not concern me except for the fact that I am still on Birth Control Pills. I am well hydrated, FYI. Has anyone experienced this?

Low-carbing really changes your hormones and many many women experience cycle craziness at first. It's normal and will settle down as your body gets used to the different hormone levels.

Another recommendation is to get off hormonal birth control. It actually goes against the benefits of lcing as far as getting your hormones regulated. I think you'll find better results if you let your body straighten itself out instead of constantly infusing it with more hormones.
