Smile Hi Everybody!

Hi everyone. I've been on the Atkin's diet since the 15th of May 2001. I'm 24 years old and a senior in college. I'm getting my degree in criminal justice and I'm taking the Summer off so i can lose this weight. I really like this message board because everyones so well informed and intelligent. I read this board religiously and, even though this is my first posting, your posts have greatly influenced me on this wol. I live in south texas at the bottom tip of Texas on the border of Mexico (so I'm pretty far from all of you) You all inspire me everyday and reading the board keeps me on track to a healthy life. I just have to say that I haven't had so much energy in my life and am amazed about this diet. I have been pretty much overweight my entire life except when i was seventeen. At seventeen i went on one of those low fat diets and lost 50 pounds. I had looked great but that didn't last long because the hunger pangs were too much, so i gained all the weight back, plus. Now that I'm on this Atkin's diet i have to remind myself to eat. I love it. I've lost 25 pounds since I started but of course I know it comes off slower after the first two weeks. I've lost three inches already and can tell the difference in my clothes which is GREAT! I don't want to be fat anymore because well the sad fact is people don't treat you the same and its hard to get a date. I'm gung ho about this diet and I don't think anything or anyone can stop me. I hope to be able to talk to all you soon and thanks for reading this long post

Welcome aboard Carbkicker!

What a great start, congrats on the loss so far, and even if it slows, it's great to go downward!

Looking forward to sharing the continued progress!

Default hi Carbkicker, welcome aboard

I'm glad you decided to post. Everyone has lots to share, and I'm sure your experiences will help someone else too ..

I know what you mean about people treating you differently. You know what though, sometimes the person who treats us the worst is ourselves. Lowcarbing is such a positive lifestyle change, in more ways than just the weight loss. It's a great sense of knowing you're doing something really positive for YOURSELF, because you're worth it ..

Congrats on the 25 lbs so far, that's terrific! I look forward to reading more posts from you.

Doreen
