Day off. Maybe I'll do some Pilates later on, if the kids aren't destroying the house.

Hey there Rose - you're really working hard!

What exactly is your programme right now - ie how much cardio, how much and what kind of lifting are you doing, how many days/hours of each?

Being nosey...

- Built

Hiya, Built! I'm glad you're being nosey, lol--I can always learn something from you.

I've stepped up the cardio to 3 times a week, 45-60 min. per session. Lifting 3 times a week, one full body session with a trainer (he wipes me out, lol), 2 heavy lifting sessions. This is my new trainer--I work each muscle to failure before moving on. Not heavy, but a sh*tload of reps--I did 60 ball squats the other day. Also doing Pilates once a week. And something's working the way it should. This is the first time in a long time that I see real progess.

As for eating, I'm back to casual low carbing, lol. I'm not recording every mouthful, just eating the same low glycemic stuff every day, with lots of protein and veggies.

I wonder why your trainer has you on so much cardio and so many reps?

However, as long as you're getting the results you are after. I just worry about muscle catabolism and overtraining when I see programmes like this. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - but if you start getting stalled, or feeling like you REALLY don't want to train, you might consider dropping the cardio and the reps down, and focusing on heavier, shorter, more intense lifting.

Everybody is different, but we all get stalled from doing the same thing for too long, and it sounds like this is breaking a stall for you. Good job.

Hiya again, Built. The cardio is my idea, not my trainer's. I may not keep up with it for long, but at this point it has broken the stall. And it's at a fairly moderate pace, so I'm not too worried about muscle breakdown at this point. As for the lifting, I'm not sure why he's having me do all the reps, but I suspect it's to build endurance. By the time I'm done, I'm totally wiped, which wasn't the case at all with my prior trainer. And it's only once a week--the other sessions I do lift as heavy as I can. So...I'll be patient and see what happens. For now.

Thanks for your advice! I LOVE lifting heavy, so I'd never give that up. And you should see my LEGS--they're amazing, lol.

Rose, it actually sounds like you've got a good, varied approach. And WTG on the leggies! I wish I could say the same, but they ARE coming along, slooooowly...

You slay me, built! Slowly indeed--you are totally gorgeous, according to your pics.

LB workout today, sans Brian, so I lifted fairly heavy.
