Question What does everyone Eat

Hi Everyone,
I bought the Hellers Carbohydrate Addicts book back in April, and have to say its almost like reading about myself. I've followed their diet (way of life) so to speak, and was wondering what other fellow carbos eat through the day. I've never been a breakfast person, so have my one coffee with milk - black for the rest of the day, I have a salad, consisting of lettuce, alfa alfa, cheese and either ham or chicken cut up into it, because I follow the Hellers, I generally eat what I want for dinner but within a 1 hour time frame. This is working and its fantastic!!!!! I haven't really lost much if I jump on the scales, but the fat content I have lost is amazing, I can fit into clothes that I haven't been anywhere near for donkeys. I am so glad I found this web site its great - and full of advise.

Hi Leahmaree!

I've moved your post to the CAD/CALP forum where you'll get great advice from CAD/CALP'ers who span the globe.

Default Hello there!!

And welcome! I've also just started CAD again (was doing PP but feel like eating some carbs) and I've been digging into people's journals but unfortunately not many people talk about what they eat!! I wish they would... hint hint!!!! But I don't really either so I had better shut up!

Congrats on your big weight loss too!

Hello I started CAD this week, so far 1 pound, this is what I have been eating normally during the day (stays basically around the same food items) for example today:

B: 1 broiled egg

expresso coffee with 3 tabsp of heavy wipped cream
and 2 pack of splenda

L- My friend was going to this BBQ place so I ordered:

Pork Ribbs (No BBQ souce)
side salad (no tomatoes, only lettuce, cabbage, normal Rabit food with no carrots) with Italian Dressing
Green Beans
1 cup of Jell-o Gelatin (Sugar Free, no Carbs)

D- I am hispanic so I eat a lot of rice

2 Chicken Breasts
some sparagus (like those)
about 2 1/2 cups of yellow rice
1 big glass of Crystal Light

And another cup of coffee with 3 tbsp of heavy wipped cream and 2 pack of splenda.

I normally follow this rule and will as long as I can help it:

If I want to eat dessert then I probably will have 1 1/2 cup of rice.

If I have dessert I don't have any bread
If I have bread then no dessert

I am following CAD so I don't have to start my RM with salad, (I have enough at lunch).

As you can see I try to keep it simple, there are things a won't give up, like my coffee and probaly a diet coke once in a while.

Good Luck to you Girls

Wanda L., from Texas

Sorry about the typos, as I said, english is not my first language.

Thanks for everyones input - I was just curious to see if others basically eat what I eat as well. I am going to go and buy one of Atkins books at lunch time - I'm dedicated to the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, but this also sounds very interesting.
Drinking a black coffee as wel speak - tummy starting to rumble, what do others do for those tummy rumbles inbetween meals?

My tumbly doesn't usually get rumbly between meals, but then again, I only eat twice a day. I try and drink enough water, which is vital. I only get really hungry in between if I've eaten something with hidden carbs. Hope this helps!

Default CAD & salad

Everyone keeps saying that you don't need a salad with CAD, which really confuses me because it shows the exact same Reward Meal balance, including salad, that CALP does. I quote from the top of page 121: "Beginning the Reward Meal with a salad is very important to the success of the program." ??? I like salads anyway, so I have one.

I'm losing, but I also need some advice about hunger. I'm so hungry between meals that my stomach is starting to hurt.
