You guys are doing great.

I'm having scrambled eggs for breakfast and hamburger with lettuce and tomato's, cheese and bacon for lunch.

Dinner: Fried chicken on a bed of lettuce and tomato's.

I don't know the total on that yet, I'll post it later.

Cheers!

With just a few days to go, I'm throwing in the towel.

I'm going back to CAD.

I have tried and tried to not cheat.

I'll still come on and post my meals. I'm looking forward to my RM time when I can have that piece of pie and not feel guilty about it.

Today was day 3 for dh and me. Developed the really bad metallic taste in my mouth and have been popping breath strips all day - hope they are carb-free! Also had a few tiny Victoria Secrets mints, but they are mainly sorbitol so I didn't worry with counting them. It's those trace carbs that get me - never worried about my diet soda, coffee, tea, mayo, cheese, cream, etc. But really I feel fine. I thought this would be harder than it is. My hunger is no different than usual, and I'm not craving carbs (not that I ever did - I crave fat & protein). Today was a little harder because I worked (I'm a critical care RN and work 12 hour shifts), but I brought plenty of food to work and had my meals and snacks planned out. I did get quite irritable today, but I didn't exercise this morning like I usually do. Tomorrow I'll get up and at least do a little cardio and/or swim - just SOMETHING!

I'm proud of my food choices - check my journal and my fitday for my foods.

Sorry to hear you're backing out AFwife. I hope CAD works better for you. I know I couldn't sustain very low carbs indefinitely without some carb-ups. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

Jen

Goodmorning ya'll,

I'm doing good over here. Though I'm not in Induction anymore CAD isn't that much different so all is well.

IC- Step away from the ice cream. Hang in there it'll get better.

Cheers!

No worries, that sorta "bad taste" is probably from the ketones you are releasing... tis totally normal

As for the ice cream, you might try some s/f jello with cool whip. Not the same but works in a pinch and is induction friendly!

STAY AWAY from those lo carb wanabe foods that are exploding on the market right now... net carbs is not a real thing, and those carbs they tell ya not to count CAN affect your weight loss... so keep it au natural for now if you can

Warmest!

Tammy C

I have that bad taste too - tastes metallic to me. A mock danish or other creative mixtures with cream cheese and Splenda are good for sweet cravings.

Just finishing up my 5th day of induction. No cheats, no real temptations to cheat, just having a hard time keeping up with all the hidden carbs. Mom & Dad had us over for dinner tonight and were very understanding about eating low-carb. (More so than dh, who asked if he could eat the corn on the cob ) Mom even bought some low-carb fudge pops. I wouldn't eat them on induction, but they'd be fine for next week. Kids liked them!

I'm finding eating very low carb much easier than eating very low fat. Certainly much easier to eat in a restaurant! Food tastes so much better, too. I'm even losing weight without lowering my calories!

I'm still with it. I find the hardest times are when I'm off work for a couple of days. I know now that I ate because I was bored.

God Bless
the U.S.A.
By Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
