Well, so far I lost about 6kg. I started at 104kg, two weeks ago I weight at 98kg. I have not weight myself since, the bath room scale I got died on me

My target weight is about 80kg, heheh. I am 184cm tall large body frame. I am enjoying every moment of it.

Some how I am not tempted by all the carb food around me yet

saymeng, welcome.

it's going to be a bumpy road ahead...But as long as you control 'the steering wheel' well enough. If you don't steer too off track, you can be on your way to an awesome turning pt in life.

there are a hell lot of 'dangerous' foods than the ones you see inside the Atkins book or a carb counter book. That's why Singapore's a food paradise. watch out...~ but don't be too restrictive...will fall off the wagon faster.

pork rinds can be bought at lucky plaza 3rd floor onwards...those Filipino stores. or else consider Golden Mile Complex where there are many thai stores. quite interesting to observe Filipino products...

They cost $2 a pack...some taste just right some tough-chewing...they recommend to go with this special sauce that is hot n sour...

Xenadrine is a kind of thermogenic. They increase your body metabolism and gives you the maximum workout when you exercise. on the other hand they contain ingredients such as Chromium, green tea extract, white kidney beans etc...those you find in Extrim actually. They help you to stabilize your insulin levels, suppress some appetite (Zantrex 7 has this horrible after taste that naturally stopped me from eating too much).

when you start taking them, take half of the recommended portion because for some people they will experience irregular heartbeat. Xenadrine is the best so far, the worst being Hydroxycut. Zantrex 7 is as good as Xenadrine, but horrible after taste...Britney Spears takes Zantrex as well I read it somewhere.

They cost like $100 plus per bottle...lasts a month. There is an imitation brand called Synedrine. It contains the bad chromium called chromium picolinate. but i found myself wanting to go to the loo after 15 mins of taking this...but Synedrine is also not bad, i could feel the tightening of my skin...

in all, i will still go back to Xenadrine after trying various brands. yeah importantly shld get the version without ephedra or they call it ma huang. some people died of complications with ma huang.

Xenadrine EFX is cheaper if ordered overseas. I am intending to get a bottle of CBLOCK (Carb blocker) from Bodybuilding.com. If anyone of you are interested in getting Xenadrine EFX from the same webbie, maybe we can combine purchase (to save on shipping cost)

Hi Krystle,

Welcome!

Before any recommedations from us you will need to understand that LC (low carbing) is not a temporary thing, it is for life! So if you should decide to go LC then I strongly suggest that you do your research first and go get a book on LC. I am on Atkins, I got my book from Borders for $20++, "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution" = DANDR.

Please remember to do proper research before you start LC, it can be very dangerous if done wrongly .

Also, if you do not have alot of weight to loose, LC diet can be very very slow for you to achieve your target weight. There are actually four stages to LC way of eating. Early stages of LC diet can be expensive $$$$$ until your body gets adjusted.

Next, if you were to go on LC and off LC very often, it will make your body highly resistance to weight loss. As a matter of fact the same go for any other diet program.

If you still want to go on LC after all the above then I will try to answer as many questions as I can.

For Atkins, there are four stages:

1. Induction - 14 days or more

This stage is to basically switch your body from burning sugar as a primary source of fuel to burning your own body fat. You cannot avoid this stage. You can go to atkins webpage to read more about it and what are the stuff you are alowed to eat.

Basically for me (in Singapore, non-muslim food)

Breakfast - go to fried bee hoon stall to order:

2 x fried eggs
2 x toufu
2 x small fried fish
2 x chicken wings

Lunch - "young tau hu" is your best friend.

"Young tau hu" - must choose carefully and only order soup based, drop the source!
OR
"Ba Kut Teh" w/o rice - go east on the soup, i think some stalls put sugar inside.
OR
Slice fish soup w/o rice
OR
Slice beef soup

Dinner - western food but drop the fries and bread, also NO sweet chilli source or cook yourself. I find making my own salad quite cheap and easy.

It is important that you should drink at least 2 litres of water a day . You should spread your water consumption throughout the day to maximize it's benifits. Do not try to drink 2 litres of water at one go.

Do not worry about drinking too much water because, assuming that you have healthy kidneys, your body can safely process between 12-15 litres of water in a day. I normally drink about 4 litres a day becasue I am a big person.

The follow three stages, I do not think I need to explain right now.

2. Ongoing weight loss

3. Pre-Maintenance - very close to reaching your desired weight,

4. Lifetime Maintenance - when you reach your desired weight.
