I've done over 30 marathon and have moved up to ultras. These are races of 50 to 100 miles. My question for any runners: What do you use for fuel during races? My understanding is there's no insulin stimulated when consuming carbs during a race. So it should be okay to eat sugar during the run. Am I right?
We have a runners discussion going in the BFL exercise group. On my long runs I drink Accelerade and eat gels. I moderate carb intake during the rest of the week. I am running my next marathon (my 9th) on March 29.
