Default Thankful

Overcoming my shyness enough to finally post. Want to express my thankfulness for and to:

Dr. Atkins, who provided a strong foundation on which people continue to build

Gary Taubes, whose tremendously well-researched Good Calories, Bad Calories got me to re-commit to low-carbing

This forum, and the posters who have inspired, informed, and shared their journeys.

I am also very thankful for Dr. Atkins. He took all the hate so that others that came later wouldn't have to.

Gary Taubes is my hero.

Your stats are amazing.

I also have Gary Taubes and Dr. Atkins to thank! The one-two punch. For me, it started with Taubes' Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It (2010), then Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002) (aka DANDR).

Welcome!

Agreed on all points. DANDR was a constant reference for me for quite a while, and it helped ground me in real, science based dietary concerns, rather than all of the goofy fads and pseudo scientific garbage that pervades the interwebs.

Glad you posted. I, too, am very grateful to be a participant in this forum, and while the LC luminaries you mentioned are on my list as well, this forum provides a place where I can learn, express my thoughts, and keep up with the latest research (and, importantly, pseudo research) enabling me to pursue a sound WOE that has made all the difference in my health over the past 5 years.

DG - excellent results and numbers for you, and it's a testimony to your ability to adopt and adapt in finding the WOE that works for overall health. There are many others here who have had great success, and it's a pleasure hearing from another who can contribute to the wealth of knowledge found here. Bravo!
